  1. Here’s something that you probably didn’t know about me … My story is slightly different – I had two uteruses, next to each other but separate in the shape of a heart. I fell pregnant through both uteruses but due to complications lost the one foetus and had to undergo an operation as it was an ectopic pregnancy. This was when the double uterus was discovered. A few weeks later because of my insistence, it was discovered that there was a foetus in the other uterus. The case was submitted to the Lancet and published. As a result, women after suffering a miscarriage are sent for a scan before anything is done, to check for the possibility of another foetus. Despite everyone’s concern, my pregnancy went full-term with a healthy baby at the end. Judy

    • Oh wow! That is fascinating! You know… it’s quite possible that your additional uterus once belonged to a twin that you shared your mother’s womb with! I’ve heard – and I don’t know if this is true – that people with multiple organs may have “consumed” their twin or merged with it. It’s a good thing you went for that scan, though. You literally saved your first born’s life!
